For our client Schindler, one of the world's leading suppliers of elevators, escalators and moving walkways, based in Milan, we are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer.
Your new roleIn this role, you will be part of our Milan Software Development Hub, an agile team that develops modern software tools to help shape the next-generation elevator’s software to meet high quality and safety standards for Schindler’s products.
As Software Test Automation Engineer, you will ensure the quality of the team deliverables by driving implementativo of software test automation and quality assurance. You will also have responsibilities on hardware/electrical benches.
Your next challenges include:
• Working on test automation development covering functional safety aspects of an elevator system;
• Creating and maintaining test scripts, specifications, and test configurations;
• Defining, building, extending, and maintaining test benches;
• Harmonizing and coordinating existing test infrastructure;
• Ensuring software quality with automated tests or manual verification on test benches (including hardware in the loop) based on test designs and requirements;
• Improving the test processes and generating reports for developers, project managers, and notified bodies;
• Supporting the analysis of reported issues in close collaboration with other departments and experts.
What do you need to have successYou are a self-directed and self-organized, highly responsible, and reliable team player. Your good analytical skills pair with your hands-on approach and open mind and for new technologies and agile development.
Further requirements may include:
• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent;
• Previous experience with embedded software testing and quality assurance, preferably in industrial R&D environment and using test automation environments;
• Software engineering experience in Python and with Linux environment;
• Knowledge of electronics; • Capable of maintaining and extending hardware/electrical test benches;
• Good understanding of software development technologies and practices, different test methods, agile processes and tools like JIRA, Confluence, Quality Center;
• Experience working in distributed/cross-discipline teams with changing priorities;
• Proficient level of English is required. Italian and German are a plus.
